The Luxe Nails & Spa

One girl’s luxury is another girls necessity. Or something like that. Here at The Wear to go Girls we like to be pampered but getting our nails done, well that to us is a definite necessity! One of our favorite salons is The Luxe Nails & Spa. If you are in the neighborhood stop by and see owner Lynn. Hands down the best manicure around. On a recent visit we sat down and asked her some questions about the salon and how she got her start.

How long have you been doing nails?

8 years

Did you have to go to school or take a test?

Yes you go to school for about 6 months depending how fast you finish your hours and from there you have to apply for a testing.

Did you work for someone else before you started your business?

Yes.

What made you branch off?

It was just time to do something for us. We planned to open our own salon for about 2-3 years, but never went further than that. Then in 2010 we decided to just try and had family help. At the beginning the salon was very slow and empty, but once we got customers they would tell their friends.

Does everyone know how to do all services?

Everyone has their own specialties.

Why are the techniques you offer so special and set you apart from the competitors?

We try to keep everyone satisfied. A lot of other salons are all about getting the customer in and out as quickly as possible. We never pressure customers to add anything. We offer certain packages. We take our time and we make sure they leave happy. Our focus is to keep the customer happy, do a great job and not be too pushy when it comes to additional services. It’s all about staying consistent with my work and designs.

What’s next for Luxe nails?

We plan to expand by buying the space next door in about 9 months. We plan to offer more services, such as facials, skin tagging (laser).
