In seasons past it mightʼve called wine, burgundy, or aubergine, but for Fall 2012 itʼs got a whole new name. The hottest hue of the season, undoubtedly is Oxblood. It was seen all over the runways in various shades, and has been making itʼs way into my wardrobe, as well as my beauty routine. I just canʼt get enough! The intense wine-brown color is so dark it almost seems unwearable on the cheeks or lips, but donʼt be intimidated. Applying sheer layers and blending will tone down the “goth” and pump up the “glam!” If you prefer something lighter on your cheeks and lips, try using Oxblood to create a smokey eye. The rich color is flattering for all eye shades, and is fresh change from your typical black or brown. For those that are still a bit hesitant, an easy way to sample this trend, is just a polish change away. Oxblood on the nails looks so chic, and is probably my favorite way to wear this vampy color!
