Anatomy of a Beauty Look: Red Lip

The holiday season is around the corner and one of our favorite beauty looks is a red lip. Finding the right shade, however, can be tricky. It can take a lot of trial and error. Ulta Beauty has a great chubby red lip crayon that doubles as a lip pencil so you don’t need to worry about matching. It’s also shiny enough that you don’t need a gloss but thick enough that it stays put. The one shown here is called Dynamite.

The rest of the look includes Neutral shadow from Sephora’s MoonShadow baked palette, Loreal Liquid Eyeliner and Benefit’s They’re Real layered over Loreal’s Voluminous mascara. The cheeks were kept soft with a light dusting of MAC powder blush in dame.

Typically the rule of thumb with a red lip is to keep the eyes very simple. But since rules are made to be broken, we say if you love to wear eyeliner, go for it!
